Ms. Herrera Piano & Violin Studio

Enriching the young and impressionable minds of children through musical instruction

About me

A native of Coral Gables, my musical journey started at age 7 when the allure of the piano captured my heart, followed by the violin at age 10. From those early moments of discovery, music became my passion and creative outlet.

My dedication to musical excellence led me to compete in a myriad of prestigious competitions, where I earned accolades and high rankings in events such as Federation, Solo & Ensemble, Young Talent Big Dreams, and Chopin Competitions. These experiences not only fueled my passion but also instilled within me a profound commitment to nurturing musical talent in others.

My love of music strengthened by joining various community orchestras such as the Greater Miami Youth Symphony, Coral Reef Orchestra, and finally the Chameleon Orchestra at the University of Miami, where I earned my undergraduate degree in Music Education as a piano principle.

Driven by a desire to give back to the community that nurtured me, I dedicated my formative years as a volunteer musician at organizations such as the Greater Miami Youth Symphony, the FROST Preparatory Program, the Suzuki Strings Program. I continued volunteering my musicianship during my collegiate studies at Old Cutler Presbyterian Church and St. Philip's Episcopal Church. This commitment to community service ignited a passion for music education outreach, leading me to collaborate with non-profit organizations like the Donna Shalala MusicReach and the Miami Community Music Center to promote musical instruction in underfunded neighborhoods across Miami.

After my collegiate studies, I served as the violin and music instructor at St. Philip's Episcopal Church & School, where I had the privilege of imparting the joys of music to students aged 5 to 10. It was a role that filled me with immense joy and reinforced my belief in the transformative power of music education.

Now, as a full-time private instructor for violin and piano, I am honored to continue serving my community through community service concerts and performance events. My mission is to instill a foundational passion for music in others as I was so lucky to have been given in my youth: To foster a love of music, inspire creativity, and empower young individuals to discover the beauty of their own musical journey, and to then share it with their community.
